Roderick was born with a Hirschprung disease where his anus did not develop a normal passage for him to remove bowel. At 4 years of age, with the assistance from Ruel Foundation, he underwent a thorough rehabilitation and surgery at a children's hospital in Manila back in 2005. It had been so strenuous for the young Roderick going through the process of dilatation before the surgery operation. He now lives with his parents like any normal child in Mindoro, Philippines.
